No. 23 (2023): The political field of National Security

There are different fields of national security, the classics are: Political, economic, psycho-social and military. In order to understand the multidimensionality of national security in Peru, the National Security and Defense Doctrine broadens them, modifying the psychosocial in the social and information fields; and including the environmental, scientific-technological, and police fields.

In order to adequately express the multidimensionality of national security, it is necessary to determine the categories and factors of national security, included in the aforementioned fields.

There is no doubt that the political field of national security is related to the decisions of the authorities since they express the will to prioritize actions to solve problems. From this prioritization comes the budget allocation.

In order to better depict the doctrinal aspects, in this edition we present five (05) articles that reflect the influence of politics on national security, which obviously exceed the actions of the Armed Forces, a wrong paradigm when, in public management, National security is mentioned.
