Abstract

This article addresses the importance of science and technology for defense in Peru. It analyzes the advances worldwide in this field and focuses on aspects such as autonomous weapons systems, cybersecurity and cyber warfare, and anti-missile defense systems. In addition, it highlights the role of the Peruvian Armed Forces in the development of science and technology for defense, through the creation of specialized institutes and research centers with the aim of understanding the relevance of these areas in the current context and how they contribute to strengthening the country's military capabilities. Finally, it highlights how the International Technology Exhibition for Defense and Disaster Prevention (SITDEF) has great relevance in the field of science and technology for defense in Peru, as it contributes to the exchange of ideas, the dissemination of technological advances, and the promotion of collaboration between national and international actors in a space where military capabilities are promoted and innovation is encouraged to improve the country's security and defense.

    Mayor del Ejército del Perú, Bachiller en Ciencias Militares de la Escuela Militar de Chorrillos, Bachiller en Ingeniería civil de la Universidad Alas Peruanas, Diplomado en Gestión de Seguridad por la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, Capacitado como Observador militar por el Centro de Entrenamiento y Capacitación para operaciones de paz, actualmente se desempeña como alumno oficial de la XI Maestría en Ciencias Militares en la Escuela Superior de Guerra del Ejército.
