The present work studies the development of this phenomenon in the time of pandemic, concentrating on the analysis of informality in the Peruvian State, starting from the premise that informality has origins from remote years. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it visible that it has affected the living conditions of Peruvians and further exacerbated the large gaps and social inequalities, as well as has highlighted the structural and institutional weaknesses of the Peruvian State. Efforts to take countermeasures have been limited by a predominantly informal labor market. The immediate future does not look encouraging, since it is likely that labor informality will increase and disrupt national development and security.
