The article examines the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in military drones, highlighting how this technology has revolutionized their capabilities. AI enables drones to perform more autonomous operations, improve data analysis, and optimize decision-making, which reduces human error and increases efficiency in reconnaissance, surveillance, and combat missions. International examples are presented, such as the development and use of AI drones in the United States, China, and France, which are at the forefront of integrating this technology into their armed forces. In turn, the article discusses the implications of this integration of AI in military drones emphasizing the challenges faced by countries that do not develop these capabilities, generating a technological gap that can compromise their security. Modernizing the armed forces and training specialized personnel are critical aspects of taking full advantage of emerging technologies, ensuring an effective and strategic integration of AI in national defense.
